Message from Founder, Board of Directors and Staff

This has been the most exciting two weeks for Environmental Charter High School and we thank everyone in Los Angeles, in California, around the country and world who took a few minutes to see our video, vote and learn more about us. While we’re sorry we didn’t make the top three, the fact that we made it to the top six in this competition and to see the nation rally around education is the best reminder of the important work we do every day as educators.  I have spoken to the top three schools and congratulated them earlier today.  To be recognized by the President and be included alongside these other extraordinary schools is more than we ever expected and it couldn’t have been done without the support of the community over the past decade and everyone who’s helped ECHS achieve its goals. Thank you.

Our community is forever changed by this honor.  We will continue to celebrate our first ten years of success and look forward to our next 10 years.  This fall we open our new middle school, Environmental Charter Middle School, ECHS’s new science center and the Green Ambassador Institute, our teacher training center for schools across America.
